Helidon was born in Durrës, Albania, in December 1970. He was raised in a family of artists and inherited his respect for the Fine Arts and passion for sculpting from his father Sale.
While waiting to begin his studies at the Academy of Arts in Tirana, he decided to move to Italy where he attended the Brera Art Academy of Milano.
Thanks to a scholarship he won in 1998, he was able to attend London’s Kingston University where he improved his techniques of engraving, sculpting and photography. Xhixha graduated from Milan’s Brera Academy in February 1999. He very quickly became renowned in the art academic sphere for his unique style. His creations included works in Murano glass and sculptures in stainless steel using innovative and specialized techniques.
Within a small period of a few years, steel became the base of all of Xhixha's work and creations. He discovered how to unite the power of light with this material by confining it, transforming it by using “special effects” and ultimately setting it free. His desire is to capture and sculpt light through intervening methods by using the material to make his creations embrace the surrounding environment reflecting colors, shapes, opaqueness and brightness.
Helidon Xhixha represents a turning point in the international art scene where he continues to thrive and hold a prestigious role on many levels. (Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France, England, Austria, Spain, Principality of Monaco, America, Brazil, Albania, Dubai)
